McCarren Demo Garden

Hello gardeners!

The McCarren Park Demonstration Garden is an initiative of North Brooklyn Mutual Aid and GrowNYC. We're a space for environmental education and climate justice, and we're so happy you're here.

There are no individual plots in our garden—we grow everything together. We focus on food and flowers to stock our local free fridges. In 2024, we harvested 935 lbs of produce for our neighbors! We also provide free workshops and events for the community, and a chance to make new friends while getting your hands a little dirty.

Our season runs from early May to late October, and we have three to four gardening shifts per week. Read on for all the information you'll need to join us.
See you in the garden!
